MERN Stack App With Real Time Dashboard For Orders
The Brief
A food business needed live order visibility for kitchen staff instead of someone refreshing a dashboard manually during rush hours.
My Approach
The client's actual pain point was staff refreshing a dashboard manually during rush hours to see new orders, an operational problem, not a design one. Once that was clear, the priority shifted from another CRUD admin panel to a genuinely real-time system.
Built as a MERN app with Socket.IO pushing order events directly to a live staff dashboard the moment they're placed, backed by an Express API and MongoDB for order and menu data. Staff no longer need to refresh anything; new orders simply appear as they come in.
