Wix Headless with Next.js and Tailwind CSS
The Brief
Needed a fast, on-brand storefront without giving up the Wix inventory and checkout tooling the ops team already relied on.
My Approach
Scoped a headless split up front: keep Wix as the commerce backend for products, cart, and checkout, since the ops team already knew that tooling, and rebuild only the customer-facing experience where speed and design control actually mattered. That boundary kept the project scoped and avoided rebuilding inventory management from scratch for no real benefit.
Used the Wix Headless APIs for product and checkout data, with Next.js ISR to keep product pages fast without hammering the Wix API on every request. Tailwind CSS handled the custom storefront design, so the finished site reads as a bespoke brand rather than a Wix template with a new coat of paint.
